About the Dietitian

Kathryn (KC) Stockmon, MS, RD, LDN

KC is a registered dietitian specializing in sports and performance nutrition, with particular expertise in Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs), low energy availability, and disordered eating in athletes.

Her clinical experience includes eating disorder and adolescent medicine care at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and pediatric care spanning multiple specialties at Boston Children’s Hospital. In outpatient practice, KC has worked with patients across the lifespan and provided medical nutrition therapy for a broad range of concerns, including cardiovascular and kidney disease, diabetes, eating disorders, gastrointestinal conditions, pregnancy and postpartum nutrition, and pediatric nutrition.

This experience informs her work with athletes whose nutrition and performance concerns may intersect with chronic illness, gastrointestinal symptoms, growth and development, reproductive health, or complex treatment histories.

KC works with adolescent and adult athletes across all sports. She welcomes collaboration with physicians, mental health providers, athletic trainers, physical therapists, coaches, and other members of the athlete’s care team. She is licensed in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.

Care Coordination

With the client’s written authorization, Truly Fueled Nutrition Counseling welcomes collaboration with referring providers and other members of the treatment team! Relevant updates and recommendations can be shared to support coordinated, consistent care.

Insurance and Superbills

Truly Fueled Nutrition Counseling is an out-of-network nutrition practice and does not bill insurance companies directly.

Clients may be eligible for partial reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits, however coverage and reimbursement varies by plan. For clients who would like a superbill, a referral containing the appropriate ICD-10 diagnosis code(s) must be received before a superbill can be provided.

Superbills contain the information clients may need to submit eligible nutrition appointments to their insurance company. A superbill does not guarantee payment, so clients are encouraged to contact their insurer directly to confirm their out-of-network medical nutrition therapy benefits.

Why Truly Fueled Nutrition Remains Out-of-Network

Remaining out of network allows care to be structured around each client’s clinical needs rather than the visit limits, diagnosis restrictions, or administrative requirements established by an insurance plan.

This model makes it possible to provide:

  • Longer, comprehensive appointments

  • Individualized nutrition recommendations grounded in the athlete’s health, training demands, schedule, and relationship with food

  • Thoughtful preparation and follow-up between visits

  • Ongoing support and accountability

  • Collaboration with physicians, therapists, athletic trainers, coaches, and other members of the care team

  • Longer-term care for complex concerns that may not fit within a limited number of insurance-covered visits

We aim to provide more than simply nutrition education during an isolated appointment. It is our goal to offer responsive, specialized care that helps clients translate recommendations into sustainable changes while protecting their health, performance, and relationship with food.
